This world is good

I have heard it so many times: "This world is a bad place, people need to realize that." "You don't know how bad it is to live in this world." "People are so full of hate, and there is hunger and war."

Yes, some places there is hunger. Some places there is war. And we have all hated, or we will sometime. So what? It doesn't make the world a bad place. Hating is natural for us. I can remember one person (that I knew personally) who I've actually hated. On the other hand, I can remember... a lot of people I have loved. Okay, some countries are at war, or are struggling with hunger. But most countries aren't. And even those who are, they still have love. People protect each other because they love each other. When I talk about this, I often direct people to the intro of the movie Love Actually. If you already have watched it, and remember it, that's splendid, but for those who haven't, here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMScPVO4rLw
I really recommend it, unless, of course, you don't want to understand the message I'm giving you.
Yes, love is all around. Everywhere we turn. Not only romance, but also friends and family, and kindness from strangers. Don't see the world in such a negative way. Focus on the positive things, because, after all, there are more of them.

See the world
You said:
The world is terrible. It's just not bearable.
You said it's a bad place,
and that I couldn't see it.

I said:
No, it's not. Take a shot.
I said it's a good place,
you were the one who couldn't see.

You said:
Look around on all the hate. This is our fate.
You said there were so many bad things,
and I was too blind to see.

I said:
Look around on all the love. The sun above.
I said there were good things too,
and that you were the blind one.

You said:
I wanna leave this life. I don't want a strife.
You said people kill, hate, hurt
and asked why I couldn't understand.

I said:
Stay. Don't go that way.
I said people love more
and that everywhere I turn
I see an open door.
I see love.
Family, friends, romance,
a smile from a stranger.
And I asked you to try and understand.
Please listen.

But you didn't.
You wouldn't.
I felt withdrawn,
but I moved on,
I saw the sun above.
Because this world
is still full of love.

You are special!

It's been a long, long time since my last entry here. Today I want to talk about attitude. Attitude is important! As some say: "Attitude is altitude."

A lot of teenagers have problems with this. They can't see themselves clearly. They think they are ugly, stupid, mean and worthless, but they are wrong. Every single person on this Earth, was created for a purpose. Every single person on this Earth, is worth something. Has a value. Think about it... Does anyone love you? Anyone at all? A friend, boyfriend/girlfriend, a mother or a father, or maybe a sibling. Could anyone at all love you? Most likely, the answer is yes. And if they love you, there must be a reason for that. They must have started loving you for a reason, and still love you for a reason. What is that reason? The reason is that you are you. No one else is like you. Maybe someone is prettier. Maybe someone is smarter. Maybe someone is funnier, or kinder, or more polite. But the combination of all your abilities and personality traits, that's what makes you YOU. And that's what makes other people love you. You are special. You are unique. And no one can EVER take that from you! Not in a billion years!

So just hang in there! Don't be afraid to be who you are, because now you know you are loved for it. People don't love you for being Beyoncé or Lady GaGa, or the most popular girl in your school. They love you for YOU. And being YOU is always good enough. Never stop believing in that.

Gay

My first entry here will be about homosexuals. I know a lot of people dislike them, and of course, they have the right to do that, but in my humble opinion, that is not a good reason. Someone's sexual orientation should not matter.

Some Christians say that when God created Adam and Eve, he showed that men and women are supposed to be together, but I say that you should see things different. So Adam and Eve were heterosexual, that does not mean that every human should be. The God I know would not punish anyone for who they love. The God I know believes in love, and love is unconditional. I say some guys like guys, some girls like girls, get over it. It's not like you don't deserve to live because you love your parents or your siblings, just like a person who has romantic feelings for someone of the same gender doesn't deserve to die. After all, it's not that long from friend to girlfriend/boyfriend, and it's totally okay that dudes are friends with dudes, right?

Let people be who they are. It is not something they should suffer for.
